How Slippy Solutions actually works.
Slippery floors are not a mystery. They are physics. When water sits on a polished tile, it forms a flat film between your shoe and the surface. Your foot rides on that film, friction drops to almost zero, and you slip. Slippy Solutions fixes that problem at the microscopic level, permanently, without changing how the floor looks or feels.
The problem
Why a wet polished floor is basically an ice rink.
A mirror finish is a flat finish.
Factory polished porcelain, marble, ceramic, and sealed concrete are pressed and ground until the top layer is almost perfectly flat. That mirror finish looks beautiful and is easy to clean, but it gives a shoe nothing to grab onto when liquid is involved.
Water turns into a frictionless layer.
The instant water, soap, grease, or pool splash hits that flat surface, surface tension pulls it into a thin even sheet. Your foot lands on that sheet and hydroplanes, exactly the way a car tire hydroplanes on a wet highway. DCOF on a wet polished tile can drop into the 0.20s, well below the 0.42 ANSI legal minimum.

Free on-site DCOF test
Before anything is applied, we wet a small area of your floor and measure its Dynamic Coefficient of Friction with a calibrated meter. You watch the reading. Most polished tile lands somewhere in the dangerous 0.20s.

Clean and prep the surface
We deep clean the test zone to remove dirt, soap scum, sealers, and oils that would block the reaction. A truly clean surface is what lets the treatment penetrate evenly.

Apply the SureStep solution
Our solution is brushed or rolled onto the floor and left to dwell for a controlled amount of time, typically a few minutes, depending on the type of stone, tile, or concrete.

Microscopic etching reaction
During the dwell time, the solution reacts with the minerals in the surface and opens up thousands of microscopic grooves and channels per square inch. You cannot see them. You cannot feel them with your hand. They are only visible under heavy magnification.

Neutralize and rinse clean
We fully neutralize and rinse the surface so nothing is left behind. No coating. No film. No residue. No sticky finish. The tile looks exactly the same as it did when we walked in.

Re-test in front of you
We wet the same spot again and re-measure the DCOF with the same meter. The number now reads in the high 0.70s, nearly double the 0.42 legal minimum. You see the proof before we ever ask for a dollar.

The micro grooves act like tiny drainage channels. When your foot lands, water flows down into the channels instead of getting trapped under your sole.

Slippy Solutions is a long lasting chemical treatment that creates an invisible micro tread design into the surface of almost every hard mineral floor - ceramic, concrete, marble, granite, terrazzo, porcelain, enamel and many others.

Will it actually damage my floor?
No. Zero damage. Our solution reacts with mineral surfaces at a microscopic depth - invisible to the naked eye - to open thousands of tiny channels per square inch. Your tile, stone, porcelain, or concrete keeps the exact same color, finish, gloss, grout lines, pattern, and feel underfoot. We do not coat, paint, sand, etch visibly, or strip the surface.
How long does the treatment last?
Years. This is a long-lasting treatment, not a temporary coating. Because the micro-tread is etched into the floor itself, there is nothing on top to peel, chip, or wash away. Most residential floors stay protected for many years without any reapplication, and even high-traffic commercial floors hold up for years before a refresh is even considered.
Will my floor look different after?
Not at all. Walk in and you will not be able to tell which tiles were treated and which were not - by sight or by hand. The only way you know it is treated is the moment water hits it and your foot does not slide.
Is there any downtime? Do I have to close my business?
No downtime. The floor is safe to walk on immediately after we finish. Restaurants, hotels, gyms, homes - nobody has to leave, nothing has to shut down. We work around your hours and your traffic.
How safe is it for kids, pets, and food prep areas?
Completely safe. We neutralize and fully remove every trace of the solution before we leave. There is no residue, no film, no chemical smell, and nothing for bare feet, paws, or food prep to come into contact with. The treatment is approved for use in kitchens, hospitals, daycare facilities, and senior living.
What surfaces can you treat?

What surfaces will it NOT work on?
We do not treat wood, vinyl, LVT, laminate, rubber, painted floors, or sealed/glazed surfaces with a thick polymer coating, because there are no mineral surfaces underneath for the chemistry to react with. We will always test a small spot first during your free demo before quoting the full job.

What is DCOF and why does the 0.42 number matter?
DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) is the scientific measurement of grip on a wet walking surface, defined by ANSI A326.3. The legal minimum for any walkway intended to be used while wet is 0.42 - below that, the floor is considered legally unsafe and is a liability magnet in court. How long does the actual visit take?
The free demo takes about 20-30 minutes - we test a small section of your real floor, run a before/after grip comparison you can feel yourself, and hand you a written square-foot quote. A full treatment day depends on the square footage, but most residential jobs are done in a few hours and most restaurant or hotel jobs are scheduled around closing hours so nothing disrupts service.
