The science behind the grip
Slippery floors are not a mystery. They are physics. When water sits on a polished tile, it forms a flat film between your shoe and the surface. Your foot rides on that film, friction drops to almost zero, and you slip. Slippy Solutions fixes that problem at the microscopic level, permanently, without changing how the floor looks or feels.
The problem
Factory polished porcelain, marble, ceramic, and sealed concrete are pressed and ground until the top layer is almost perfectly flat. That mirror finish looks beautiful and is easy to clean, but it gives a shoe nothing to grab onto when liquid is involved.
The instant water, soap, grease, or pool splash hits that flat surface, surface tension pulls it into a thin even sheet. Your foot lands on that sheet and hydroplanes, exactly the way a car tire hydroplanes on a wet highway. DCOF on a wet polished tile can drop into the 0.20s, well below the 0.42 ANSI legal minimum.
The treatment, step by step
01
Before anything is applied, we wet a small area of your floor and measure its Dynamic Coefficient of Friction with a calibrated meter. You watch the reading. Most polished tile lands somewhere in the dangerous 0.20s.
02
We deep clean the test zone to remove dirt, soap scum, sealers, and oils that would block the reaction. A truly clean surface is what lets the treatment penetrate evenly.
03
Our solution is brushed or rolled onto the floor and left to dwell for a controlled amount of time, typically a few minutes, depending on the type of stone, tile, or concrete.
04
During the dwell time, the solution reacts with the minerals in the surface and opens up thousands of microscopic grooves and channels per square inch. You cannot see them. You cannot feel them with your hand. They are only visible under heavy magnification.
05
We fully neutralize and rinse the surface so nothing is left behind. No coating. No film. No residue. No sticky finish. The tile looks exactly the same as it did when we walked in.
06
We wet the same spot again and re-measure the DCOF with the same meter. The number now reads in the high 0.70s, nearly double the 0.42 legal minimum. You see the proof before we ever ask for a dollar.
Why a treated wet floor grips better than a dry one
The micro grooves act like tiny drainage channels. When your foot lands, water flows down into the channels instead of getting trapped under your sole.
With the water cleared out of the way, the raised micro peaks between the grooves make direct contact with your shoe or bare foot. That contact is what creates friction.
Friction is what stops a slip before it starts. Once the surface is treated, a wet floor grips better than most untreated dry floors.

DCOF explained
DCOF stands for Dynamic Coefficient of Friction - the scientific measure of how much grip a floor provides when walked on while wet. The legal minimum for safe walkways is 0.42 under ANSI A326.3. SureStep consistently tests in the high 0.70s, well above the threshold.

What we do
Our treatment leaves zero residue, film, or coating, and will not change the appearance of your floors. We treat the surface, remove what is left (nothing remains, so it is environmentally safe), and you are done. Backed by a 1 year warranty, and depending on traffic it can last for many years.
Our treatment does not scratch, discolor, crack, or weaken your tile in any way. It only opens microscopic grooves - invisible to the eye and harmless to the surface.
Not a sealer, film, or etching. Just safer traction on the original surface.
Floors are ready to walk on immediately. No shutdown of your home or business.
Ceramic, porcelain, concrete, marble, granite, terrazzo, enamel, and more.
Applicable in all types of weather, inside or outside the property.
No special products needed. Keep cleaning your floors the way you already do.
Written warranty on every job, with results tested before and after.
The treatment
Slippy Solutions is a long lasting chemical treatment that creates an invisible micro tread design into the surface of almost every hard mineral floor - ceramic, concrete, marble, granite, terrazzo, porcelain, enamel and many others.
When the floor gets wet, the micro tread dramatically increases the coefficient of friction, so your foot no longer slips out from under you. The treatment is based on sound engineering, with a scientifically tested formulation developed over many years.
Our team applies the treatment, lets it react for a few minutes, then promptly removes it. Nothing is left behind on your floor or tub.
Bathtubs & showers
We treat the bottom of bathtubs and shower floors with no change to the appearance at all. The only way you will know it has been treated is when you step into the wet tub and notice it is no longer slippery.
Most factory sandblasted tubs trap dirt and grime in the rough pattern over time. Our treatment makes the full bottom of the tub safe and gives it that brand new feel without the grime.
Independent lab tested
DCOF - Dynamic Coefficient of Friction - measures how much traction a floor provides when walked on while wet. The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) and ANSI A326.3 set the legal minimum at 0.42 for level walkways intended to be walked on when wet.
SureStep consistently tests in the high 0.70s, nearly double the legal requirement. A floor treated with Slippy Solutions is actually safer wet than untreated floors are dry.

Every question, answered
Slip-and-fall prevention is a serious decision. Here is exactly what you are buying, what happens on the day, and what life looks like after.
No. Zero damage. Our solution reacts with mineral surfaces at a microscopic depth - invisible to the naked eye - to open thousands of tiny channels per square inch. Your tile, stone, porcelain, or concrete keeps the exact same color, finish, gloss, grout lines, pattern, and feel underfoot. We do not coat, paint, sand, etch visibly, or strip the surface.
Years. This is a long-lasting treatment, not a temporary coating. Because the micro-tread is etched into the floor itself, there is nothing on top to peel, chip, or wash away. Most residential floors stay protected for many years without any reapplication, and even high-traffic commercial floors hold up for years before a refresh is even considered.
Not at all. Walk in and you will not be able to tell which tiles were treated and which were not - by sight or by hand. The only way you know it is treated is the moment water hits it and your foot does not slide.
No downtime. The floor is safe to walk on immediately after we finish. Restaurants, hotels, gyms, homes - nobody has to leave, nothing has to shut down. We work around your hours and your traffic.
Completely safe. We neutralize and fully remove every trace of the solution before we leave. There is no residue, no film, no chemical smell, and nothing for bare feet, paws, or food prep to come into contact with. The treatment is approved for use in kitchens, hospitals, daycare facilities, and senior living.
Almost every hard mineral floor: ceramic, porcelain, quarry tile, marble, granite, terrazzo, concrete, enamel, slate, travertine, brick, and many natural stones. Indoor or outdoor, dry or constantly wet. Pool decks, restaurant kitchens, hotel showers, garage floors, restaurant entryways, walk-in tubs, ramps, stairs - we handle them all.
We do not treat wood, vinyl, LVT, laminate, rubber, painted floors, or sealed/glazed surfaces with a thick polymer coating, because there are no mineral surfaces underneath for the chemistry to react with. We will always test a small spot first during your free demo before quoting the full job.
Honestly and transparently, by the square foot. No hidden fees, no surprise add-ons, no high-pressure sales. You get a written quote on the spot during your free demo, after we have actually tested your specific floor.
DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) is the scientific measurement of grip on a wet walking surface, defined by ANSI A326.3. The legal minimum for any walkway intended to be used while wet is 0.42 - below that, the floor is considered legally unsafe and is a liability magnet in court. Untreated polished tile when wet often falls into the 0.20s. SureStep, applied correctly, tests in the high 0.70s - meaning a treated wet floor grips better than most untreated floors do dry.
The free demo takes about 20-30 minutes - we test a small section of your real floor, run a before/after grip comparison you can feel yourself, and hand you a written square-foot quote. A full treatment day depends on the square footage, but most residential jobs are done in a few hours and most restaurant or hotel jobs are scheduled around closing hours so nothing disrupts service.
Yes - every job comes with a written 1-year warranty backed by SureStep, and DCOF results are tested before and after so you have proof in writing that your floor now exceeds the legal minimum.
All of South and Central Florida. Monday through Saturday, with on-site demo slots at 1 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM and 7 PM. As an authorized SureStep distributor we also work directly with regional and national restaurant, hotel and property-management groups.
